Irrfan Khan & Kapil Sharma To Be Charge-Sheeted For ‘Illegal’ Construction
Mumbai Police has launched proceedings to prosecute TV’s most popular comedian Kapil Sharma and cross-over star Irrfan Khan, for allegedly making large-scale illegal alterations to their apartments at DLH Enclave in Oshiwara, a posh suburb of Mumbai.

A first information report was filed by the Oshiwara police last year and a leading tabloid reported that a charge sheet will soon be submitted before the court.

The report quoted an officer who said: “It has been found that the accused carried out alterations after the apartments were purchased, and the developer helped them in such renovations."

The police sources said an inspection of Kapil's apartment revealed the walls were pulled down to make the rooms bigger. “In the original building plan, the kitchen was next to the entrance of the apartment. However, we found it next to a bedroom, which itself was made bigger by pulling down a wall. A major portion of refuge area too was taken over,” a police source said.

Kapil meanwhile is reportedly looking to sell off the flat and has blamed the DLH developers for the alterations.

The talk show host's troubles started in September, 2016, when he sent out a tweet to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that BMC officials had demanded a Rs 5 lakh bribe from him.

Soon the BMC accused Kapil of illegal constructions and flouting environmental norms.
